Fourth graders showed great school spirit and great sportsmanship at the Walkathon. Way to go 4th graders! This week's goal: Complete my final "Message in a Bottle" by Friday. Some items in tonight's Monday take-home folder: Sign and return: Weekly Update, Reading Log (in binder), Topic 2 Math Test Review and keep at home: Walkathon lap card, Language quiz on adjectives/adverbs, math fact tests, Topic 2 Math packets with Effort Scores on the front, book order fliers Veteran’s Day: In preparation for our Veterans' Day Assembly, please let us know the names of veterans in your family. We would like to feature their names on large banners so that we can show our students just how many veterans touch us directly. We hope to honor their service by recognizing them on that day. From our PE teacher: Marathon Challenge 2013 What: Run a marathon (26.2 miles) in a month Who: Cascade View Elementary School Grades 1-5 Where: Run/Walk Anywhere and Everywhere Why: Get Fit, Have Fun, Prepare for the Turkey Trot When: October 14th-November 18th How: Sign-up in the gym with Mrs. Corder. Turn in the attached mileage forms (available on the 4th Grade Nuts & Bolts Page) and see your mileage total grow. Walk-a-thon mileage, the fitness testing mile in PE, and the Turkey Trot race will help you get off to a great start in reaching your goal of 26.2 miles in a month. Reward: Challenge finishers will have a movie day after school. At-Home Reading: Students should be reading 20 minutes a night. Monthly reading logs should stay in students' binders, and will be checked every Tuesday. Two nights a week students may use Lexia as their 20 minutes of reading. Archives
