This week's goal: Complete my final "Message in a Bottle" by Friday.
Some items in tonight's Monday take-home folder:
Sign and return: Weekly Update, Reading Log (in binder), Topic 2 Math Test
Review and keep at home: Walkathon lap card, Language quiz on adjectives/adverbs, math fact tests, Topic 2 Math packets with Effort Scores on the front, book order fliers
Veteran’s Day: In preparation for our Veterans' Day Assembly, please let us know the names of veterans in your family. We would like to feature their names on large banners so that we can show our students just how many veterans touch us directly. We hope to honor their service by recognizing them on that day.
From our PE teacher: Marathon Challenge 2013
What: Run a marathon (26.2 miles) in a month
Who: Cascade View Elementary School Grades 1-5
Where: Run/Walk Anywhere and Everywhere
Why: Get Fit, Have Fun, Prepare for the Turkey Trot

Coming Up This Week in Class: We'll be finishing our Washington desk map project, reading a story about the Titanic, starting Math Topic 3, completing the revision and publishing process as we complete our "Message in a Bottle" stories, identifying subjects and predicates in sentences, and creating Titanic-themed art as we learn about geometric shapes in art.
With thanks,
Emily Larson
