We are in for some lovely weather this week! The timing is perfect to prepare us for Spring Break next week! I hope you and your children enjoy some quality time together! Goal for the week: Finish my Newbery report by Thursday. (Alternate: Publish my animal report by Friday.) Some items in this Monday's take-home folder: Sign and return: updates (self-assessed), March reading log (in binders) Review and keep at home: Math practice pages, math fact tests, inference practice pages, St. Pat's art and poetry Important Dates: 3/29 4th Grade Music Concert 3/31 Newbery book report due 4/4 – 8 Spring Break 4/14 Class picture (updated) 5/3,10 & 11 Fourth Grade WA State Standardized Testing 5/17 & 24 Fourth Grade WA State Standardized Testing 5/30 No School: Memorial Day 6/2 Wax Museum (with parent viewing 9 – 10 am) From our music teacher, Mrs. Herb: A reminder from the music room. Our 4th Grade Concert is Tuesday the 29th at 7:00pm. I hope you all are planning to attend. The kids have been working hard in music class and are really looking forward to performing for you! Reading Genre Study for March - Newbery Book Report: Examples of finished projects can be seen on the project page of the 4th grade website. Students should be bringing their Newbery book and packet back to school every day, in case we have class time they can use to work on it. March and April volunteer calendars: attached to this week's email. Thanks again for all you do to support our class's learning - we couldn't do it without you!!! Crazy hair or Dr. Seuss hats! NO: colored hair, hats, backward pants, face paint, costumes Thurs, 3/24 Dress Up (nicely: dresses, ties, bow ties) Fri, 3/25 Pajama Day! At-Home Reading: Students should be reading 20 minutes a night. Monthly reading logs should stay in students' binders, and will be checked every Tuesday. Two nights a week students may use Lexia as their 20 minutes of reading. Archives
