Larson Walk-to-Math: Topic 14 - Measurement. Quiz on Customary Units this Wednesday! Extension: zoo design (finding area and perimeter of exhibits). Note: This is a longer topic, and the number of required IXL Skills / Math Menu projects needed to earn a 3 for Effort has been increased!

Reading: We are reading non-fiction and historical fiction texts about volcanoes. Reading skills to focus on include: inference, identifying text structures, point of view, character traits, and summary
Writing: Students are working on informational/research writing, with an emphasis on writing a topic sentence, citing text evidence, using transition/connecting words and phrases, using domain specific vocabulary, and writing closing sentences.
Conventions: We are working on correct punctuation for citing evidence in an opinion paragraph and using transition/linking phrases.
