Key reading skills in this unit include identifying main ideas and supporting details, comparing and contrasting, making inferences, understanding figurative language, summarizing a text, and citing text evidence to support ideas. Writing: Students will continue writing opinion paragraphs with clear topic sentences, three reasons to support their opinion, and text evidence or details/examples to explain their reasons.
