CVES Wheels Unit!!! March 2nd-13th
Helmets REQUIRED for participation in PE.
From Mrs. Corder: Students will be riding unicycles, ripsticks, razor scooters, and go go pedal rollers. (The unicycles and ripsticks are for 3rd-5th grade.)
If your child has forgotten their helmet, there will be a box in front of the gym. Please make sure your child’s helmet is labeled with their name. The office will not call into the classrooms. Counselor Corner
Here at CVES, we spend a lot of time talking about Kindness. I truly believe that an emphasis on kindness is the key to solving bullying problems in school. In my lessons this week, we had great discussions about how and why to show kindness at school. Kindness can be small -like smiling, saying “hi”, or playing with someone new- but the impact can be huge for another student. Here were the key take-aways from the 4th grade lesson on Kindness this week:
- It comes back to you (not always, but often).
- It all starts with one person; one person can make a difference.
- It feels good to get kindness returned.
- It feels good to give kindness.
- Kindness is often about simply noticing, then doing something about whatever you’ve noticed.
- Kindness can be shocking or surprising.
- Kindness is giving what you have to others that need.
- Kindness is selfless.
- Kindness is for ALL, not just friends. Kindness is especially for those people that we struggle with (that annoy us, that we don’t like on first impression).
Math: Our Module 5 covers fraction equivalence, ordering, and operations.
This week:
Topic C: Fraction Comparison
Up Next:
Topic D: Fraction Addition and Subtraction
Topic E: Extending Fraction Equivalence to Fractions > 1
Topic F: Addition and Subtraction of Fractions by Decomposition
Topic G: Repeated Addition of Fractions as Multiplication
Topic H: Exploring a Fraction Pattern
