We have our last SBAC tomorrow (Tuesday). The subject is Math. It would be great for your students to get a good night’s rest and to eat a healthy breakfast before school tomorrow. We will have time for a healthy snack during the morning testing as well. Thank you for encouraging your child during this testing!
CVES Wheels Unit
May 31st-June 13th
Helmets REQUIRED in PE for participation.
Students will be riding unicycles, ripsticks, razor scooters, and go go pedal rollers. Thank you for your support.
The mystery word is marketing. If your child forgets his/her helmet, there will be a helmet box outside the gym (in the main hall) so you can drop them there. We have PE on Tuesdays, and for this unit will be moving the time to 2:15 to allow for more space.
Students have been working on their tri-fold boards here at school, and today they went back home to be finished. Completed tri-fold boards are due back to school on Tuesday, May 31 ready for our Wax Museum on Thursday, June 2. Please see the wax museum assignment packet (attached) for specific guidelines. There is also a page on the 4th grade website with examples. This is a long term project with the checkpoints below.

May volunteer calendar: attached to this week's email. Thanks again for all you do to support our class's learning - we couldn't do it without you!!! Please let me know if this time doesn't work. If your volunteer time falls on the morning of SBA testing, I will have items to work on out in the volunteer bins with (hopefully!) clear directions, but will not be available for clarification or explanation. Thank you for your flexibility and patience, and your support in providing our students with a quiet testing environment.
Coming Up This Week in Class: We are completing biography reports, using insulating devices to keep popsicles cold, continuing our Step-up to 5th Grade math topic, completing our final session of SBA testing, starting our study of economics, and solving a mystery story about nutrition!
