Volunteers needed! We need at least one more chaperone for Camp Waskowitz on January 29th. This all day field trip is a fantastic learning opportunity and a lot of fun for chaperones as well! The mystery word is resources. We also need volunteers for our rescheduled Museo Art Lessons on January 22nd and 23rd. Students will be working on a printmaking project, and this lesson will require quite a bit of adult help to manage the printmaking stations. To see the calendar or to sign up to volunteer for Museo Art Lessons, use the Signup link here: https://signup.com/login/entry/477023421096088038 If you have a regular volunteer spot and would be interested or able to trade for one of these high-need spots, please let me know.
Thanks, again, for all you do to support children, teachers and learning!
Valentine’s Day will be celebrated on Friday, 2/14 in Room 14. All students will have a Valentine’s mail sack/bag made and decorated at school. Due to food allergies and dietary restrictions, we would like to suggest that no candy be distributed at school with student cards. Any candy (or food items) on cards will NOT be opened at school; it will be sent home.
We will have a low key celebration that afternoon with a healthy snack of red and pink fruits and a science video. Our wonderful room parents will be soliciting donations soon. More information will be sent home in next week’s take home folder and newsletter.

- Using Text Details to describe a setting
- Comparing and Contrasting Point of View
- Using Details to Determine Theme
- Analyzing Problems and Solutions
- Describing Characters and Events
- Determining Genre

Social Studies: In our Storypath unit we are learning about the Native Americans of the Northwest Coast. In this unit, our classroom becomes a Native American village. We will discuss the setting for our village and determine how the weather, geographic features and natural resources might impact how we live.
