Dear 4th Grade Families,
We've already reached the end of the second trimester! Your children have been working so hard and deserve a pat on the back for all of the fabulous learning they have accomplished this trimester! Some items in this Monday's take-home folder: Sign and return: student-assessed updates, February Reading Logs, March Reading Logs (in binders) Review and keep at home: Math fact tests, Math practice pages (varies by walk-to-math class), winter haiku, March scholastic book order fliers Our goal for the week: "Study for the science test on Thursday." Jump Rope For Heart Last day to turn in donations is Friday (3/6) PJ Day Friday: The mystery word is: constellation. We collected another 100 cub cards and are celebrating 2nd trimester learning with a PJ party and a movie! Newbery Book Report: Students will read a Newbery Award winning (or nominated) book and create a new book jacket for it. This project will begin this week with a due date of April 2. March Scholastic Book Order: Fliers went home today - last day to order is next Monday (2/9) March volunteer calendar: is attached to this week's email. Please let me know if you need any adjustments or can't be here on your day. Thanks again for all you do to support our class's learning - we couldn't do it without you!!! Attendance Hotline: If your child will be missing school or tardy for any reason, please be sure to call the attendance hotline: 425-831-4108. Due to changes in the district's policy, if a student is absent and the attendance line has not been called, our school secretaries are required to call all the emergency contact numbers in that student's file until they can find a reason for the absence. Please call the attendance line! At-Home Reading: Students should be reading 20 minutes a night. Monthly reading logs should stay in students' binders, and will be checked every Tuesday. Two nights a week students may use Lexia as their 20 minutes of reading. Archives
