As a part of the health curriculum, the fourth grade has a short presentation on human growth and development. The lessons include two videos – one for boys and one for girls – which cover changes that take place during adolescence, both physically and emotionally. We also have each student interview a parent (survey in green folder and attached here) and make a growth timeline. If possible, please allow your child to bring in four to six pictures that show how he/she looked during different stages of his/her life, (for example, a
baby picture; a picture in pre-school; a picture from 2nd grade; etc.)
There is important information regarding this unit in today’s green take home folder.
There will be an opportunity for parent viewing of the health videos. Parents may choose any room to preview: Thursday, May 29 at 8:00 am
and 3:00 pm
8:00 am - Girl Video - Mrs. Heinz-Betts’s classroom; room 4
8:00 am - Boy Video - Mrs. Cronin’s classroom: room 14
3:00 pm - Girl Video - Ms. Larson’s classroom; room 19
3:00 pm - Boy Video - Mrs. Bernardo’s classroom; room 18
Our goal for this week: "Get my trifold and start making poster pieces."
