It was wonderful to see so many families for our Wax Museum on Friday! The 4th graders worked really hard to prepare, and their presentations were fantastic! I'll send some of the student photos in this week's email. :-) | |

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1j6YYZiYimqg81naJW8jmDtSdZh49VO2C8bAasvr2flg/viewform
We look forward to seeing you at our BBQ Lunch!
Goal for the Week: Stay with my chaperone and represent CVES well during the field trip on Wednesday.
Bring a Sack Lunch for Wednesday: Students who did not order a sack lunch via the permission form need to bring a sack lunch from home for Wednesday's field trip.
Some items in this Monday's take-home folder:
Sign and return: (no updates from last week), May Reading Logs Video permission form (In last week's take-home folder, due at the end of the day Thursday 6/4), Health Survey (In last week's take-home folder, due tomorrow 6/2)
Review and keep at home: Feedback form from today's "instrument petting zoo" of possible instruments to play in band next year
Photos for Timeline: Students will need 5 photos by Thursday to create a 4th grade timeline. They should be pictures that are ok to tape to another piece of paper. One should be a baby picture, one should be from this year, and the other three should be in between. I'm happy to print pictures that are emailed to me, or if students want they can draw their 5 photos with inspiration from family pictures at home!
Parent Survey: How Is Our School Doing? Online survey closes May 31. Please share your feedback. (See attached letter from Mr. Wilson RE Spring Educational Effectiveness Survey.) As this school year is winding down, I hope you will take a few minutes to complete an online parent survey regarding Cascade View Elementary School’s educational effectiveness. We want to know what you think are the school’s strengths and where you think we can improve in key areas that affect student learning. (NOTE: If you have more than one child attending Snoqualmie Valley schools, please complete this survey for each school your children attend – so all can benefit from your perspective.) Human Growth and Development Video: As a part of the health curriculum, the fourth grade has a short presentation on human growth and development. The lesson includes two videos – one for boys and one for girls – which cover changes that take place during adolescence, both physically and emotionally. As a fourth grade team, we have decided to separate the students by gender to watch, and discuss the information presented on the videos. The boys will meet with a male staff member (hopefully Mr. Wilson); the girls will meet with the women teachers. All the children will view the video about their gender only on Friday, June 5.
There will be an opportunity for parent viewing of the videos on:
Thursday, June 4 8:00 am and 3:00 pm
8:00 am - Girl Video - Ms. Bernardo’s classroom; room 18
8:00 am - Boy Video - Mrs. Cronin’s classroom: room 14
3:00 pm - Girl Video - Ms. Larson’s classroom; room 19
3:00 pm - Boy Video - Mrs. Heinz-Betts’s classroom; room 4
All screenings will be in one of the fourth grade classrooms and open to all parents regardless of homeroom teacher. Last year many parents found it helpful to watch the video so that they could discuss the content with their children at home. We encourage you to come and watch the approximately 20 minute video. Please see the attached letter (also coming home in the green folder today).
June 2nd students are to have all their books in to the library!
Ms. Herb has requested that all borrowed recorders be returned ASAP.
