| Students wrote and illustrated spring haikus for their third trimester nametags. We talked about what objects, events or activities are symbols of spring for them, and answers ranged from flowers, bunnies, rainbows, and baseball to allergies! |
Our class picture is tomorrow!!! The order envelopes went home in today’s in green folder.
Your student needs a stamp to mail a letter! In library, Ms. Head had each student write a letter to an author. Please send in one tomorrow ….. and, if you have a few spare stamps that you’d be willing to donate to other students in our class, that would be really fabulous!
Some items in this Monday's take-home folder:
Sign and return: self-assessed updates, March Reading Logs (in binders), Photo Order Forms (optional)
Review and keep at home: Math fact tests, Math practice pages (varies by walk-to-math class), YMCA Kids' University info, Spring Haiku rough drafts
Our goal for the week: "I will use expected behaviors both in the building and on the playground at CVES."
Newbery Book Report: Students should be finished with their Newbery Award winning (or nominated) books, and be getting their packets approved to receive their book jackets. The final book jacket is due April 2.
From our Music Teacher, Mrs. Herb:
Greetings from the Music room! Your 4th graders have a concert coming up soon! Be sure to mark Tuesday, April 21st on your calendars. It will be here at CVES at 7:00pm. We are presenting songs from many different places in the world, in many different languages. Also, we will demonstrate our recorder, drumming, and xylophone skills. Students should arrive at 6:45 wearing dressy concert attire. They should bring their recorders with them also. I hope to see you all there!
April volunteer calendar: is attached to this week's email. Please let me know if you need any adjustments or can't be here on your day. Thanks again for all you do to support our class's learning - we couldn't do it without you!!!
