Sign and Return: weekly tracker, December Reading Logs (in binders), ELA Test
Goal for the Week: Work with a parent to fix my convention errors on the ELA test. The mystery word is haiku.
Coming up this week in class:
Starting division in Walk to Math, editing and revising, sharing student-written tall tales about a child with special abilities, making holiday art and cards to share with families, finishing our science topic on Rock Layers, planning to welcome a new student after the holiday break, and celebrating school-wide cub card success with a PJ Day!
Math Facts: Fourth grade students must be fluent in all multiplication and related division facts up to 12. Please use our on line program REFLEX https://www.reflexmath.com/go (username: [email protected]) or visit the 4th grade blog to learn strategies and interactive ways to practice math facts at home.
Larson Walk-to-Math: Continuing Extension Project: Collecting, displaying, and working with data; Topic 9: Division
At-home Reading: Students are expected to read 20 minutes a night, with a goal of 100 minutes each week. Your signature is required on their weekly minute totals every Monday evening. I will be checking for signatures every Tuesday morning.
Writing: Students will work on writing narratives that include descriptive details for the setting, dialogue between characters, a clear sequence of events, and a problem and solution.
Conventions: We are working on correct punctuation for dialogue.
