Coming up this week in class: We're continuing Walk-to-Math learning, researching and writing biographical spotlights, continuing our study of map skills with the "Off the Map" team challenge, researching and presenting slide shows about the regions of WA State, reading "Fragile Frogs" as we practice finding main ideas and supporting details, exploring the way animals use sense receptors to process information about the world around them, writing science CER's, and cheering for our friends who win prizes at the Walkathon assembly!
November conference schedule is attached to this week's email. Please check your time. The mystery word is receptor. If you have not yet scheduled a time for your conference, please check the openings and email me your preference. Thanks!
Washington Topo Map: This wonderful hands-on geography project is optional but highly encouraged for our class. Students should have a rough draft and green direction packet in their binders. More information and pictures of examples can be found on the Project Page of the website!
Volunteer Opportunities: Thank you for your support! Our classroom calendar is here: http://signup.com/go/bKMtZZx and shows Spots for those who volunteered for recurring volunteer times for the year. I appreciate all the folks who volunteered for at-home correcting! Thanks, again, for all you do to support children, teachers and learning!
Please visit our 4th grade blog…. http://cves4.weebly.com/
Homework: Please check the binder reminder (located in the front of the binder) to support your child’s homework habits. It is also posted on our classroom blog daily.
In our partnership to ensure success for your child, good communication is critical. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to e-mail me at larsone@svsd410.org. I’d love to hear from you and look forward to working with you this year.
With thanks,
Emily Larson
