If your child forgets his/her helmet, there will be a helmet box outside the gym (in the main hall) so you can drop them there. We have PE on Tuesdays.
Our all school BBQ: is on June 9th. Food orders have closed, but all are welcome to join in the fun! Just meet us for their designated lunch time!
Band This Fall: Greetings from the music room! I’m sure your child told you about the fun they had last week trying out instruments in what we call our “Instrument Petting Zoo.” They brought home a slip of paper from Music and Arts noting which instruments they got to play and which one the professional musician would recommend. Discuss the experience with your 4th grader and get them thinking about whether or not they would like to join the 5th grade Band next year. I hope so! On September 7th we will hold a Band Rental Night where the music companies come to CVES for your convenience and bring the instruments for the 5th graders to rent. There is no need to get your instrument yet. (Although, if you’d like to start playing over the summer, be sure to get a private teacher. I know some kids don’t want to wait until September.)
I am looking forward to seeing who joins the Band in the fall! I LOVE teaching beginning Band! We have lots of fun each year! We meet in the mornings before school from 7:45 to 8:25am (usually 3 times a week).
If you are interested in seeing this year’s 5th graders perform, we have our final Band Concert next Tuesday the 7th at 7pm. You’re welcome to swing by and check it out. They have come SO far this year! It may inspire your 4th grader.
As always, let me know if you have any questions.

Student Classroom Supplies now available on line!
Our CVES online “Student Classroom Supply” shopping will be open fromTuesday, May 31st to July 1st !
Our goal is to ease the minds for school preparation and create a one-stop shop for school supplies for next year. The boxes will have your child’s name on them and be shipped directly to our school! After July 1st, prices will increase and boxes will be sent to your home.
We hope this help decrease your “To Do” list for next year’s Cubs.
It’s as easy as 1-2-3!
- Visit www.schooltoolbox.com, to purchase your child’s 2016 – 17 classroom supplies. It’s also on our school website under Quick Links.
- Search for our school name, then select your child’s grade level for next year(2016-17) and follow the directions for a user friendly shopping experience.
- Enjoy your summer!
~Happy shopping.
