I wish you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving. I am so grateful to work with your wonderful children in such a supportive community. I hope you enjoy some quality time this Thanksgiving!
Some items in this Monday's take-home folder:
Sign and return: Update (student self-assessed), Reading Log (in binder)
Review and keep at home: Reflection contest information, Exaggeration/hyperbole illustrations, Math practice pages
Parent-teacher conferences continue this week with 11:25 am dismissal. I look forward to meeting with you.
Surveys: Thank you for filling out the blue survey and dropping it in the box outside the main office on your way out of the building. Or, feel free to send it in with your child. We appreciate your feedback!
Lost and Found: Please check the lost and found area in the main corridor. It is overflowing!
CVES Holiday Giving Campaign: “One Voice, Respectful Giving Project” serving our local Snoqualmie Valley families in need starts this week!
Donations are being collected until Dec 9. Our class has been asked to focus on boots and winter clothing. All students are encouraged to donate gift cards, new and unwrapped toys, and non-perishable food items. Please join us as we spread holiday cheer and compassion to our needy Valley families. Thanks so much for your support.
WA Topo Map: Our WA Topo map Gravy Group / Extra Credit project is required for Gravy Group students, and optional for all other students. A rough draft was done together in class. Student hands should be doing the work, and parent help/support is encouraged! Due December 3rd.
Important Dates:
11/28-29 No School - Thanksgiving Holiday
12/3 Topo Map Due Date
12/9 Last day for Holiday Giving Campaign
Coming Up This Week in Class: During this very short week we'll be celebrating our Walkathon Spirit with a reward party from Big Star Studios, continuing Math Topic 5 on Multiplication, and learning about how Setting influences a story by writing and illustrating our own "Cinderellas".
With thanks,
Emily Larson
